My 2007 GMC Acadia has been in the shop 2 times with the motor torn apart. First time under warranty, last time, not. They blame my Napa oil filter for breaking apart and clogging motor. Napa examined, motor, not problem with their filter, (no one else has reported such problem, I have had it happen twice) GM blames napa and is saying not a compression problem with motor. Telling me they may have warrantied second time, had I used a gm filter. This is illegal to say to me according to the Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which states if a manufacturer requires you to use their brand replacement parts for a warranty to not be void they have to supply you with those parts free. I don't see GM offering free oil filters, does anyone else. Also said because I didn't have my oil changed and filter installed at GM dealer won't cover. Does that mean that if you go to jiffy lube same deal???
