My husband and I decided it was time to make our first real investment. We were looking around the lot of Budget Used Cars and found a few vehicles that we were interested in. We consulted with a sales man, and after waiting for hours we finally got a car. Then after we already signed the papers they told us we had to pay them by allotment, and we had no other option. We agreed to that, and got a copy of all of our paper work.
We were under the impression that this car was reliable, safe, good on gas, respectable, and affordable. As we were signing the papers we were informed that this would help to better my husbands credit.
We had the car for two weeks, and the brakes and roders went out on it. I took it back to Budget Used Cars, and complained that I just bought the car how could it already be broken. That was violating Lemon Laws. They wouldn't fix it for free. I ended up bringing it to their shop to make sure that was the problem, and they said they would call me to get the OK to fix it when they found the exact problem. I got a phone call about five hours later saying I owed Budget Used Cars $300.00. I didnt give the OK to fix my vehicle. I paid the money anyway, and brought it to another machanic to make sure it was done correctly, and I was informed that only the back brakes were fixed for $300.00.
We decided to trade the car in at Pay Less Car Sales and the value of the car came out to be what we paid for a down payment. When they checked his credit it was still bad because at a "Buy Here Pay Here" lot your payments don't go on your credit report. They told us they did so we would buy the car. So we were also ripped off and now we owe all this money on a car and it didn't value that amount.
I went to go stop my allotment, and I must have misplaced the paperwork. I went to get a copy, and the "manager" Dori said no not until I get pay off. So I went through all the trouble to get the car paid off, and I went back for my copy of the allotment paper that I was entitled to reguardless if the car was paid off or not, and Dori once again manipulated me because I am a young 18 year old female. She would not give me the paper, and kicked me out of her office for no reason.
Now they are taking my money on a car that has been paid off, and it does not belong to them. She new I couldnt stop the allotment without their account number, and without my husband who was leaving for Iraq in 5 days. It was a big mess. Dori was very rude to me. I was treated unfairly. She cursed at me, and called me dirty names. Dori was unprofessional and degrating.
I wouldn't suggest that ANYONE do businss with Budget Used Cars!
