After buying and paying for a $440.57 "Hotel & Car Package" at CheapTickets.com, I arrived at my destination and told my car rental company I had prepaid and had a reservation.
The Budget agent says nothing, but writes my rental agreement up.
A month later, I see a $299.70 charge from Budget. I call Budget, they say CheapTickets never paid them. I call CheapTickets - they swear they paid.
They call Budget and "open up a case for me" at Budget Customer Service.
All I had to do, as per the CheapTickets rep, was to fax over a copy of my credit card statement to Budget and Budget would refund my monies.
I fax my statement over, showing both the $440.57 charge and the $299.70 charge. Budget comes back and advices me CheapTickets never paid. CheapTicket keeps insisting they paid. My credit card company has - so far - not returned my monies.
A word to the wise: CheapTickets is a scam. Can anyone spell class action? I'm sure I'm not the only one that's been scammed nationally...
