Daimler Chrysler, NHTSA, Evan's Dodge, Leatherman's Auto Group Leatherman's sold a lemon? 2000 Dodge Intrepids a piece of

I own a 2000 Dodge Intrepid, the odometer read 74,890 miles when we bought it from Leatherman's Auto Group in Albion Indiana, but the title showed over 90,000 miles. It has been nothing but trouble from day one. The brakes occasionally have a high-pitched noise when braking, A/C also been a pain, quit after just a few weeks.

Leatherman's worked on the brakes and A/C but the brakes still make noise, and A/C still not working right gone through at least 3 recharge kits, but they last maybe a month or so each. Kept hearing a clunking noise when going over bumps, fed up with crappy service at Leatherman's went to local muffler shop, thinking it was something loose in exhaust system, but turned out it was the sway-bar links.

Engine light finally came on, took it to our local Dodge Dealer, and had to replace the idle air control motor, also a leaky water recpetacle housing. The battery went out 4 months after purchase of the car, Dodge dealer again for a new one, and supposedly Leatherman's had put in a brand new battery.

About a month ago, was driving and the engine kicked, and tachometer jumped while accelerating. Went to local Dodge dealer again, transmission fluid had leaked completely, shelled out big bucks for flush and fill, and to repair leak. Still had a tranny leak, had to pay Dodge again to repair leaky tranny pan gasket. Last thing to go wrong, so far, driver's side seatback reclined several times unexpectedly. Dodge diagnosed that there was a bad part in the seat track, wanted a thousand bucks for a new seat track. Found out there was a recall still open on my Intrepid for recliner bolt. Had Dodge do the reapir, but seat still reclines on it's own.

Called DaimlerChrysler's customer care, but they said they won't do anything, because the recall was only for the recliner bolt, even though we think there is a possibility that the either the bolt or the seat track was damaged when the other broke. Called NHTSA's vehicle safety hotline, but the representative said their agency doesn't issue the recalls and that we would have to contact Daimler Chrysler, even though it clearly stated in the recall notice that it was issued by the NHTSA.
