My complaint is about Autorider, LLC in Philadelphia, PA. I had the unfortunate misfortune of purchasing a car from Gene and Chris at Autorider, LLC in December. And I have had nothing but trouble from this car. It took Gene 10 months from December to October to get my tags and registration.in that time I think I had approximately 10 temporary paper tags, which I had to drive from to NJ to West Chester, PA (where they first was located until they moved into Philadelphia) and then from NJ to Philadelphia, PA to constantly get temporary tags. It was a great inconvenience to me, because it was quite a ride and gas was not cheap, but I did it and Gene kept assuring me that this temporary tag would be the last, but of course it was not.
I ask you, What type of car sales company takes 10 months to get tags and registration. At one point I told him to give me the paper work and I would take it over to NJ and take a morning off of work and get it done, but Gene told me there was a problem with the title. I asked him what kind of problem, he again assured me that it was nothing, this happens all the time I will have your tags and registration in a month.
After a while I was so upset that Gene then let his brother Chris, who is more the boss, deal directly with me and then Chris picked up where Gene left off with assuring me that I would have my tags and registration. But in the meantime, the car started having all these problems, RUSTED CALIPERS and brakes. Carburator, Alternator, an ENGINE and the list goes on and on. This car broke down on me so many times I should have taken out stock in the towing company's.
I of course each and every time called Gene and Chris, with the calipers they paid half and totally ignored my questions about if the car had been under water at one time but said they were very sorry about this problem. Gene had assured me that the car had been newly serviced, with new brakes, new hoses and belts. And that the Engine was like new and it was a totally great car, according to him.
He Lied to me, about everything concerning this vehicle. Nothing had been serviced, NOTHING, the engine was not like new, I saw the engine after the mechanic pulled it out my car, the mechanic wanted us to see it, he could not believe it, it was rusted and cracked and when I told him I had only had the car for a year or so at that time and had no idea how this happened to the ENGINE, he told me oh no, this engine took years to get like this, its very old and its rusted on the underside of it and on the sides like it had been in water.
This was the second mechanic to say something about the car sitting in water. I am so disgusted, I could go on and on with all the issues, I just want what is fair, I want my title and for them to call it even and give it to me, they know about all the money I put into this car, because I called them each and every time it broke down on me and my family. Below is the letter I sent to them in June requesting that, after all the money and repairs that I had done to the car, basically rebuilt it, could they please call it even and send me my title, they know I am not rich and don't have money to burn, paying to have this car repaired cost me so much that I lapsed on so many other bills, but I needed the car to get to work and they knew this, I worked over an hour away from my job, so did my husband and we have 3 small children, who had to get to school. They knew we could not afford to do anything else but get if fixed.

I discussed the buyout price with Dave and he informed me that the price you had come up with was $1400.00 which I have to admit is still too much. I brought this car from your company AutoRider, LLC in good faith that it was a sound and working vehicle. I have had nothing but trouble with the car since I got it, and I called your place of business numerous times about this car. I have put so much money into this car getting it repaired and paying for tow truck fees that it's ridiculous.
I brought the car in Dec and after many temporary tags, I did not get my real tags and registration until October that is 10 months after purchase, yet I was patient and dealt with it. I had to drive over to your place of business too many times for temp tags and even follow Gene to another location while he purchased another temp tag, yet I was patient and dealt with it, never complaining. The car has never been serviced by you and every time I called about servicing the car, Gene would say he was going to get me a loaner car and never did. Gene kept saying call a few days in advance and he will get it serviced for me and get the loaner.
To date I have had to replace, the starter, alternator, ENGINE, Calipers and Brakes (twice, because of the problem with the calipers, it kept eating up my brakes), windshield wiper mechanism, water pump, the antifreeze container, numerous belts (that were rotted, sure signs that Gene had not had the car serviced). And the transmission has been slipping since we got the car and I told you about that also. I was told that this car had to have been sitting in water because the calipers on the car are so rusted and that is why it wears my brakes down so fast.
I asked Gene if this car had been under water, and of course he avoided the question and offered to pay of the bill to replace the calipers, which I did take you up on, because you knew something was so wrong with this car. I have spent over $4000.00 repairing and towing this car when it has stranded me and my family on many highways and having to still try and pay the car payments, which was a stretch since I had to constantly spend money on repairing the car.
The car never passed inspection, and I told Gene this, and again he was suppose to set something up for me to get a loaner car and have my car repaired. I faxed you over the report from motor vehicles with all the issues wrong with the car and I have been ignored. I just want you two to do what is morally right by me, the consumer. I feel that since I have put so much money into this car and had so many problems with it, that we should be able to call it even and you give the title to me.
I don't think I am wrong in asking this request because of all I have had to put up with dealing with this car. I was sold a LEMON and you both know it and because I really need transportation to get back and forth to work, and need my car, you have taken advantage of the situation. It's not right that Autorider LLC is duping people and selling cars that have so many problems. I would greatly appreciate it if you could grant my request, if there is some reason you won't grant my request, after knowing what I have put into this car, then I wait patiently for your reply.

After I sent this letter to Dave he then gave it to Chris and Gene, who after all I went through with this car still only came down $100 from the $1400.00. Which I of course did not have because the car broke down twice more after this, I was basically told the under carriage and things under the hood was so damaged, and all was done before it was sold to me was some spit and polish but no real repair. I had 2 mechanics tell me that this car has all the signs of being under water.
I unfortunately did not get a report on this car. I brought it the day before I was having surgery and I needed a car so that my husband could transport from the hospital and back and forth to the doctors. They assured me that this car was perfect for me, even took me on a test drive, and I feel like I have been taken for a ride for real. These two brothers with their half unbutton shirts and gold necklaces and pinky rings are conning hard working people and it should not be allowed.
I have sent them numerous other letters and have made phone calls to no end. I need my title so I can take care of some business and this is so holding me up and they know it and in the cruel hearts and minds they think its ok to treat people like this, its wrong.
