Ripoff Don't do business with these people

Allow me to preface this by stating that I was NEVER more than 15 days late with my car note, yet the amount of abuse that I had to endure during the 4 miserable years I held this loan was enough to make the strongest man crumble.

I have to admit that I did at one point in my life have really poor credit. I neglected my bills and kinda thought that they would go away.By the time I was ready to grow up and handle my business, my poor credit was totally shot.

It took me almost 2 full years to get approved for a car loan. When the dealer told me that there was a company named TRIAD that was willing to finance me I jumped for joy! I was so happy and so grateful that they would take a chance on ME!

I would say that the first year was A-ok. I was paying on the due date, and I never got any calls. Then tradgety struck. I wound up needing dental surgery as well as surgery for a medical illness. My co-pays were astronomical, and I budgeted incorrectly. I realized that the payment would have to be 13 days late.

I called Triad to tell them, and was immediatley threatened with re-possession. WHAT?!? I couldnt believe it! We went back and forth for a little while, I asked for a supervisor. I was sent to a woman who was not very nice, but offered to do a deferment, which was helpful atleast.

A whole year passed. I would get the errant phone call here and there, even if I was only 1 day late. I guess the term "grace period" is not in their vocabulary.

The next year I had another tragety. I had very suddenly lost my job and fallen quite ill all within a two day span. I was, frankly, BEYOND depressed. I called all my creditors, like a good little debtor, and got complete understanding from everyone. When I got to Triad, I was told simply "Well if you pay late you run the risk of repossession, but you know that already". I was then promptly hung up on.

Two weeks later, Triad called me back. Now that I was 15 days late, they were ready to give me hell! I got a rep on the line. I told her that I was sick, and had no job. I promised a payment BEFORE the 30 day late mark. She told me that wasnt good enough. I tried to relate to her as a human being. I said. And I quote "Please, please try to understand. Human to human. What would you do in my position? I have no money, my savigs is spend, no job, and I am battleing an illness. What would you do?".

This W-I-T-C-H told me that I should get it from my family. When I told her that my family had already paid my 2000.00 mortgage for that month to keep a roof over my head, this A-N-I-M-A-L suggested that I steal from my own mother. When I pointed out that she was suggesting that I commit a felony! This beast recanted her statment briefly but then told me to "Have a garage sale" to sell my valuables. She asks me if I was married. I normally wouldnt have answered the question, but I was so STUNNED that I stammered out my reply and told her that I was engaged. She responded by saying "Well then you must have an engagment ring, GO SELL IT!"

I didn't know what to say, but I had had enough. I lost my mind, my cool, and damn near all my faculties. I screamed a few profanities (which I am not proud of. But under the circumstances..) and demmanded a supervisor.

I got another S-A-V-A-G-E on the line who informed me that she was recording my conversation (which was bs) and that she was simply going to put in a request to have my car repossesed because "I dont know how to act". At that point I told them all where to go, informed them that I would pay as soon as I could and hung up the line.

I wound up getting the money to pay by the 26th day. My mom and fiancee pitched in for me. I got over my illness, got a job and was back on my feet within 1 month. Thank God!

I went to my local car dealer and got a wonderful new car, now financed through hyundai motor credit thanks to the good credit that I have procured with my responsible lifestyle, with a rate of 6% (opposed to triads 23.99%).

Just when I think I am all done with the headache, I get a call from Triad. Turns out that my payment is 4 days late and they want to run a check from my account. I emphatically scream NO into the reciever and tell him that they are due to recieve a payoff within another week.

The young man asks me to hold and then puts a supervisor on the line. The supervisor tells me that unless I make a payment she is going to have my car repossed because she is "done with dealing with me". I maniacally laugh into the reciever and challenge her to find it. I tell her that the car is probably in a compactor somewhere. And tell her "good luck with that". (Of course I am well aware that the payoff will reach her within a few days). She proceeds to tell me it is no laughing matter and threatens me again. I refuse to answer. She then asks me how the hell I got approved for another car loan?

I informed this B-E-A-S-T that just because I made a few credit errors in my youth didn't mean that I planned to repeat them. I told her that I now had a loan through a primary lender who is REPUTABLE!

Before I slammed down the reciever I thanked her company for extending the loan in the first place, but told her that signing their note was the worst mistake of my life. I would have been better off taking the bus!

Two days later my payoff was recieved. Three weeks later I got a call from "Gina" telling me that because I was such a good customer, and never paid late, they wanted to refianance my current loan and carry the note.

It has been 2 months since that day, and I still cant believe it. What the heck is the matter with these people?
