Bought a lemon and company refuses to honor word ripoff

Because of the rising prices in gas, my husband and I traded in two large vehicles to Automax Hyundia in Del City, Oklahoma for two new hyundia's.

My husband is happy with his Accent and it's getting great gas mileage. However, our '06 Elantra has been driven 4 1/2 days and in the shop the other 11 days that we have owned it. We took it in after we noticed the transmission slipping. They kept it 2 days and said they found nothing wrong. I picked it up drove it to work and on the way home it broke down again, doing the same thing. This time, I made them come pick it up. They inform us then that the new car needs a new transmission in it, mind you it didn't even have 250 miles on it.

My husband went and spoke to the GM of Automax and told him we wanted another car. He said, "no, b/c I'd have to sell this one as a used car and take a loss." Then my husband asked for our trade-in back. Again, the GM said, "that wasn't possible." After being very rude to my husband the GM then suggest we call Hyundia customer service and take it up the lemon law with them. This way it falls back on Hyundia and not "his" dealership. After given the runaround from them as well, my husband leaves.

On his way to parking lot he runs into the guy getting ready to film a commercial for this dealership. He proceeds towards him to tell him about our car and the GM comes out screaming at him to leave the grounds that his dealership didn't need that type of publicity.

We've made numerous calls to customer service and the dealership to no avail. Supposedly, customer service has passed the report on to their Regional Managers at Hyundia and we have yet to hear from them. We've called several times but no one will return our calls. Guess this is their way of continuing to screw the customer.

After two weeks, one of our trade-ins has yet to be paid off. We've contacted them to ask why and they said they couldn't pay it off b/c they were waiting on papers to come back to them. Well, papers came to us yesterday and we noticed that our payoff sum is $700.00 higher then it should have been. We knew the payoff amount going in to the deal. According to them, it's once again to late to do anything.

I read a report on here from someone in March about his bil and sister purchasing a lemon. I think my husband and I must have bought it.

Please be aware of this dealership. They are lacking in customer service skills, as well as, creating shady deals. They won't stand behind the cars they are selling and expect the customer to just deal with it. They sent a letter to us to refer them business... No thanks, I'll refer the business to the dealership down the road. This has been such an inconvenience to our family.
