Agreed! Automax is a total scam. BEWARE! An ad was run on careerbuilder.com just as described by others who have been scammed! This was supposed to be a great opportunity to sell cars for an auto dealership (CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE) in the Bayside, Queens area.interviews held for 2 days, no time OR appt. Required, so I showed up met with a Patrick Ritschel.interesting interview, I was chosen to come back the next day for training. I was told that there would be some sort of tuition but not told the dollar amount. I was told this would be reimbursable by the dealership.
All of us were led to believe he came through the dealership and that the dealership hired HIM to do these interviews, find some people for training. No mention was made of another interview with the dealer. No mention was made of the amount of money that UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE would have to pay About thirteen of us sat all day in a seminar in a crowded old storage room behind the dealership service department, listening to Patrick tell stories about Automax, his life in Michigan, kids, wife and Craig Lockerd, his supposed partner, the owner of Automax. What a slick salesperson!
Had I known to google Automax the night before, I would have seen the horror stories. I googled Patrick and didn't come up with very much. This is a very lucrative scam. He goes to dealerships in the northeast and other areas, tells the dealer he can train their next superstars', runs the ad, and brings in all these people to train for the car sales market and gets the following:
$599 for 3 days of training, (strictly marketing 101 for dummies) of which you get back $299 after 90 days of employment (that's IF the dealership hires you, after the second interview after you've paid the money) That's also, IF you lasts 90 days, on the 89th day, the dealer could just say bye-bye and you're out $599.
Half the room was made up of kids out of college or high school that came from a much further distance than I had to travel. {Patrick, I am sure if you see this, you know who this is}. It cost them money to get there, they were expecting a job offer from the Jeep dealership. Isn't it highly illegal to run ads without disclaimers? Automax needs to be CLOSED DOWN.
