Rented a 17' truck to move for about 10 hours. Drove the truck 37 miles and returned to the location I picked it up from. The truck has just a tad under 1/4 tank a fuel when I picked it up. When I dropped it off I used this guys (the uhaul location) gas pumps to put 10$ back in it which put the level back at the spot it was when I picked it up.
I checked my account a few days later to notice I had been charged 50$ too much. I called the guy and he immediately was an ass to me and said I did not fill the gas level back to where it should have been and there was a penalty fee for that. I know I put it back to the level but he argued and even hung up on me. I called back and asked that he not hang up on me. He even mentioned for me to come to his face and argue.
I am not one to try to screw anyone. I follow rules and laws accordingly. For him to call me a thief and liar was plain rediculous.
So I am out 50$ because this guy says I did not fill it back up to the level it was before.
I am confused by this and wonder just how many others he has done this too in the past. His attitude was horrible and it seems as though he would most certainly treat others like this too.
I fell screwed by him but have so much going on in life I really do not have time to fight over 50 bux. I found this site and felt it needed to be reported to let others see how UHAUL locations can be.
I called the UHAUL 800 number to report this dealer and was told I would receive a call from the area manager to resolve this but never received any call.
Service in this country is going to shit.
I will NEVER use UAHAUL again for the rest of my life and will tell everyone from this point on not to use them.
