Town Center Nissan
Ripoff, Bait & Swap, Buyer's Beware

I was looking at a 2006 Nissan Titan Demo truck at Town Center Nissan. Or so I was told that it was a 2006.

I had negotiated with a salesperson (Bill Shin) on a piece of paper on which he wrote down the year, make, model of the vehicle, and also the price and payment. While negotiating he kept running back and forth to the manager and during that time we had decided to come back the next day. I was feeling as if I was being hurried and rushed into getting the truck, and had told the salesperson several times that I was feeling that way and I would just come back the following day.

At one point I even stood up and demanded to have my truck keys and drivers license returned to me so that we could leave.instead, the sales manager (Michael Saiz) came out and negotiated the payment down $15 more dollars and said we could pick up the vehicle the next day. However, they had me sign the papers that night. After signing the papers I was not provided with copies as I legally should have been.

I didn't realize that the papers I was signing was for a instead of the 2006 that I was told I was buying. During negotiating I had been shown on the Preferred Guest Plan document where it says Your New Vehicle the year, make, and model. Since it said on that paper and also since the salesperson had stated that it was a 2006 Demo, from that point on I believed that the truck was a 2006.

When signing the finance papers I did not pay attention to the year of the vehicle believing it was a 2006 as I had been previously told. I was concerned with all the other specifics such as monthly payment, warranty information, oil change and tire rotation plan, etc. We were lied to and deliberately misled and told that the truck was a 2006 model. On the piece of paper on which we were negotiating he had written down that it was a 2006 (see Preferred Guest Plan page enclosed).

Three days later after looking at the Owner's Manual and seeing that it said we became suspicious. We got out the papers that we were given the day we picked up the truck and discovered the difference. Upon realizing this, three days later, we contacted the dealership and found out that the salesperson no longer worked there. After speaking with the sales manager he said that the salesman had made a mistake and we had signed for a not a and there was nothing that could be done because the papers were already signed.

To top it all off, within the week I discovered a large oil spot in the driveway where the truck had been previously parked. It also had consumed a full tank of gas in only 200 miles. We took it back to the dealership to be fixed because the transmission was damaged and not properly changing gears.

After speaking with a technician, I was told that the four wheel drive transmission had no fluids and two of the major bolts were either loose or missing. He also said he could not guarantee my mileage would improve. I had to demand a loaner truck that was capable of towing a trailer since I had jobs scheduled and work to do. I did not hear back from the dealership regarding the status of the repair work for over 2 weeks. I finally recieved the truck I bought back 3 weeks later.

It's funny, in the Owner's Manual it says not to use the truck to tow until it is broken in and has five hundred miles on it. I was given the loaner truck (that had only 9 miles on it) to tow my trailer with. I feel sorry for whoever will become the new owner of that truck. That loaner truck may be your's...
