Tide Water Motor, called to see if I had purchased an extended warranty about a month after I purchased the car. The car was already broke down. I told tidewater that they should not make payment on the car, because it was not running and I could not get the dealer to repair it. The tidewater rep stated that they would go ahead and mail the check to the dealer. I never received the warranty, I am being charged for a warranty that I never received. I paid for a bumper to bumper warranty, but never received it. Tidewater Motor is in bed with the dealer, the car has been broken down more than it has operated, but I still never received my warranty until after it ran out. I have put over $4,000 in repairs to this car. Tidewater's rep at the dealer told me to contact them with any problems, they ignored my letters and e-mails.
I'm mad as h*l, Tidewater (Tide Water Motor) is a vulture company. I had lost my business when I needed a vehicle to go to a job. Heck, over the course of two years I missed over three weeks work because I had to tape the car back together.
Here comes the best part: I told the Tidewater rep when they called to confirm the loan/warranty, that the vehicle had been previously wrecked (another reason for it to go back) the paint after the first rain ran off on one of the doors, it looked like some kind of temporary paint. I had it fixed $700, and the paint fell off again this time gravels knocked it off. The door was misaligned due to the previous owners accident, It could not be fixed. The vehicle has had engine problems since the day I drove it home, Of course the warranty that I am to pay for was not of use. Tidewater and the dealer promised that a key tumbler would be paid for all I had to do was pay in advance, to date the key does not work in the driver's side door.
Stay away from Tide Water Motors. DO NOT USE THEM.
When I quit paying in order to pay for a new motor, they threatened repo. Well I was not going to pay for a new motor to have it repoed. Every saturday morning and several times a day they called.
All I wanted from the bastards is my warranty to be honored and my car fixed... At 19 percent interest I could be driving something that is not costing me another $250 dollars a month in repairs and a $360 payment.
