Wal-Mart Tire and Lube changed the oil in my 2004 Malibu. Silly me for not checking my oil when their service technicians were through. Miles later I did check my oil and discovered it was grossly over filled.
Upon returning to Wal-Mart I witness their service technicians drain my oil into oil pans and then measure it as they poured it into empty oil containers. My Malibu which takes up to 5 quarts had 7 quarts of oil in it (not counting the oil spilled on the floor and left in the oil pans).
Wal-Mart made a claim with their insurance carrier. I was told it was out of their hands and to contract their insurance carrier. After numerous unreturned calls to their insurance carrier I was eventually contacted and told they were denying my claim. At this point all I was asking for was that Wal-Mart pay to have my vehicle inspected for damage.
I contacted the store manager and was again told it was up to the insurance company and there was nothing he could do. I asked the store manager to do the right thing and take responsibility. Nothing doing.
There seems to be a lot of negative publicity concerning Wal-Mart in the news recently. An incident like this surely reinforces any such notion. Helena does not need customer disservice like this!
