In me and my husband bought a 2001 dodge intrepid from Lobel Financial. We made our payments on time till May when I became disabled. I missed June's payment then paid a payment in July. I wrote on the check for July's payment and they went and applied the payment for June.
Then I missed August payment and paid in September. I wrote on the check for September payment and they applied it for August. I then missed October's payment and they said I was three months behind in carpayments. They repossessed my car October 31st. I called lobel and spoke to Sylvia on Monday 10/31/05 and she stated in order to get back my car I had to pay the full balance of the note on my car off which was $5,394.22 in order to get my car back.
I spoke to Lobel financial 5 times during that week. Either with Sylvia (10/31) or Gladis (11/2 two times, 11/3,11/4) and was quoted the same price $5,394.22. My husband was quoted once by Gladis and the person I borrowed the money from was even qouted once by Gladis too. I went to Lobel office here in Sacramento and was even qouted the price again by another person. I got the car back after paying off the amount they had qouted me. Now they want more money and say if I don't pay them $126.39 they are going to repossess my car after I already have paid them.
They call my house every 20 minutes and leave no messages on my answering machine. They start calling me at 7A.M. And continue till 10P.M. They have even ran my credit report without my permission several times. Even if your on time with your car payments they will call you.
You never speak to the same person twice. I have been verbally threatened by Lobel financial with bodily harm. I have asked them to have only one person call me and I told them they cannot call more than twice in one day per California law and they said they would call me as much as they would like and that the law doesnt apply to them. I even went so far as to write them a letter saying they could not call my house and all communication had to be in writing and that I put them on the do not call list for telemarketers and they dont care.
If you are wise don't buy a car from them or they will do the same thing to you.
