I paid $479 to have my brakes repaired at Just Brakes. One of my lugs was damaged when I brought the car into them. I told them they could cut it off and replace it. When I got my car back, my steering wheel was shaking and I saw they simply cut the lug off and did not replace it.
Two weeks after I got my brakes fixed, my steering wheel was still shaking, so I called them to ask if that was normal. They said no, bring it in. I brought it in the next day and explained the situation and they told me they wouldnt be able to get to it for 2 or 3 hours-even though I had already paid them and it was a problem I was having as a direct result of their work. I had my 2 month old daughter with me, so I really couldnt sit there for hours waiting for them to just look to see what the problem was.
I brought my car back to them a couple days later and the same thing happened.
A week and a half later, I was driving and a man on a motorcycle flagged me down and told me my tire was about to fall off. ALL of my tires were loose and the front passengerside tire was about to fall off. We tightened all of the lug nuts, but when we got to the front passenger side tire, two of the lug nuts wouldnt tighten, they would just spin around and around. We had to get my car towed into Just Brakes.
They have now had my car for 3 days, and are telling me they do not have the equipment at their store to take off the lugs to get the tires off. Well, when I paid $479 to get my brakes done, they had no problem taking the lug off. If they dont have the proper equipment at their store, they should have never worked on my car in the first place.
They are telling me that it is partially my fault that the other 2 lugs got ruined because I drove 1000 miles with a shaking steering wheel before I brought it back into them.in the first place, I called them once and brought it into them twice and was never made a priority. All of you who live in big cities know it is not hard to drive 1000 miles in 28 days. When a roundtrip drive to your work takes 30 miles, it adds up.
They are telling me that they are willing to "eat" the charges of towing my car to a mechanic to have the work done, and pay for the labor. I just have to pay $105 for the parts. I would have never needed these parts if they would have done their job right in the first place. I told them I am willing to pay for the 1 lug and lug nut that was bad when I brought my car into them. I called the Honda Dealership and the total for those parts are $8.20.
The only fault and blame they are taking is that they didnt make me a priority when I brought my car into them. They claim they did not know the severity of my car. Well, if a mechanic does not know the severity of my car, how am I supposed to know? They do not seem sorry that they almost caused my tire to fall off when I was driving on the freeway with my newborn baby in the back seat.
So basically they are saying it is my fault for driving my car after I paid $479 for them to do a bad and life threatening brake job.
