Cheating customers and insurance

Took car to MAACO to get and estimate, after it was hit in a car accident. They promised to have in done in 1DAY. Kept calling for estimate and they informed us they were waiting for the insurance man to come. Mind you this was almost 9DAYS LATER and they were suppose to be giving us and independent estimate. We told them that we wanted to take the car to get a second estimate, but they would not let us have the car, because they said we had to pay a storage fee of almost $400.

SOMETHING THEY DID NOT INFORM US OF IN THE BEGINNING. They told us that the estimate was free and now they are trying to charge us a storage fee for 9DAYS OF STORAGE, WHEN THEY SAID IT WOULD ONLY TAKE ONE TO GET THE ESTIMATE. We informed them that we were not going to pay that and Tom the manager asked us why should we care, because the insurance would pay for it.

At first the insurance said they would not pay for it because they do not pay for storage, but they could see how wrong this was and that we needed the car fix and we could not get if fix with out a true estimate. Maaco did not even do a good estimate on the car. They did not even inform the insurance man the car would not even run. I think they were just trying to find a underhanded way of getting paid with out doing any work.
