I have a 2005 Subaru (9500 miles) Legency GT2.5 Turbo which is under warranty. Had a XM Satellite Radio installed and the antenna was placed on the outside in the center of the roof just above the front window. The wire was run just under the weather strip and above the factory seal. I had the car three days before the radio was installed and it didn't rain in that time. Once it rained it leaked first on the passenger side and then on the drivers side. The post next to the driver and headliner got wet along with the floor.
Went to Bob Dance and they stated "it is the wire" that caused the leak. Spoke with Jason in service and advised me to take it to the stereo shop. I did and they removed the headliner and contacted an auto glass company to inspect. They advise it was leaking because the factory seal had a defect and not the wire as it didn't penetrate the seal. The stereo shop contacted another auto glass company and they also verified it was the factory seal leaking.
Called Bob Dance and they again insisted it was the wire and wouldn't provide any assistance. Called the district office and once again informed they had to follow the dealer and what they said.
As I am only the customer and we are always wrong, two auto glass installers were wrong, and logic didn't work as to the wire not going into the seal, I am now paying for a new front window to be installed and will stay away from Subaru and for sure "BOB DANCE". Warranty is a joke.
