JN Phillips Auto Glass
Incompetent, deceitful, and took an attitude when questioned about work

I just had a cracked windshield replaced on my 1999 GMC Suburban SLT at JN Phillips Auto Glass in Franklin, Ma. This company had an A rating with the B.B.B. So I figured they were the one to go to for factory original
replacement glass. This company gives you the option of having the work done in-shop, or they will come to you. I chose in-shop (in case of inclimate weather). I had to drive from North Kingstown, R.I. To Franklin, Ma.

They had the job done in about one and a half hours, which is normal time expected for the windshield sealer to cure before driving. They rolled the car out, and told me I was good to go. I was about to leave, when I noticed that they forgot to put the current R.I. Inspection sticker back on. When I mentioned it, they did put it on.

After driving home (50 miles), I noticed a 5/8" gap across the top of my new windshield (between the bracket around the windshield, and the body of the vehicle). The rubber windshield SEAL was missing! I called the shop, and they said to bring it back. When I got there, the salesman said there wasn't any seal around the top. This was just BULLSH*T! I have detailed pictures of the windshield before and after.

I took the car to 2 different GMC dealers (NEW), and they confirmed that JN Phillips screwed up! I had to order the windshield seal from the dealer
being JN Phillips said they have no recolection of any such seal!

Finally, my wife called them the next day, and the salesman "MIKE", told her, and I quote: "Well, we didn't tell you to bring it here in the first place".
In fact, when I called the company's main telephone number and asked for the nearest location for me to have this done in-shop, they DID tell me this was the nearest shop to me, and made an appointment.

If left the way it is, the GMC dealers said rain would come right through the top of the windshield after a short time. This results in my having to make THREE 100 mile roundtrips, and $253.13 (for the windshield), and having to go to a GMC dealer for a part they "SAY" didn't exsist, to get it done right!

I don't know if all of JN Phillips shops are like this (hopefully not), but I can tell you this... STAY AWAY from shop# 38 at 490 West Central St.in Franklin, Ma.
