I have been in and out of our local Tuffys to get my vehicles repaired, but no more. I have learned my lesson (probably too late as other folks in the area have warned me to stay away from them). This last time I took my truck in for repairs to the brakes. Over $700 later, my vehicle was done. Now, this was just a general brake job, but according to them, my drums needed to be replaced as well as wheel cylinders and the pads. They always require these parts to be replaced whether it needs it or not. Why? It should be up to the individual. I thought they were correct at the time this was done, but I found out later that, I could have gotten the job done for half the price at a reputable mechanic and other people who have used them in the past told me the same was done to them. Ask anyone in Sturgis about Tuffys and you'll get the same reply... Don't use them! I even went down to Tuffys in Elkhart, and they were astonished about how much I paid. It's ridiculous. Now, they are sending people door to door to drum up business. They are promising 4 oil changes for the price of 3. One guy even offered a friend of mine, coupons for oil changes. Well, it won't happen. I told them to shove their oil changes. He asked me why. He told me they were under new management. When he told me the "new" managers name, I told him they were under the same management as before. Nothing has changed. The manager is still John, I'm not sure of the last name, but this is a small town. Everyone knows who he is.
If you do use Tuffys, use the one in Elkhart, Indiana. Do not use the one in Sturgis, Michigan. There is a Midas close by. I recommend them.
