Ripoff, Scandalous and Irresponsible Company

I recently had my vehicle brought to this company for a transmission fluid flush that required a Ford dealership tool. I later received a call on my cell phone from the service department advising me that my rear axles were leaking and it would cost $308 extra.

I advised the mechanic not to do anything more than the transmission flush (since I always had the mechanic at the dealership I bought my vehicle from do all my vehicles work and can trust him). The Rome Ford mechanic advised me that I could pick the vehicle up then since the transmission flush was done.

I planned to pick the vehicle up when I returned to town. Later that day when I was entering Rome I received a phone call from my mother telling me my car would be in the shop a day longer. I am a 23 year old woman recently divorced who has temporarily moved home with my son until the divorce is finalized.

The vehicle is owned by me. I paid for this vehicle, hold the title and registration. The mechanic had called my home number and left a message before calling my cell phone. My mother received the message and called after I had already told them not to do this work and said she would pay to have the work done.

They knew she was not the owner and went against what I had said and did the work anyways, in my opinion for the money. No one from this company ever called my cell phone again after speaking to my mother asking if I agreed or letting me know that someone was speaking on behalf of me and my vehicle.

This was an incredibly irresponsible move on Rome Ford-Lincoln-Mercury Inc. Part. That could have been anyone telling them to do the work saying they were family planning to pay and I would end up with the bill.

Now I owe my mother $403.22 which is what the total cost was and am extremely disturbed to know that when I, as the owner, tell a company what I want done to my vehicle that I cannot even trust they will listen. This company is out for money only and they are willing to go against what you tell them to get it.

I would advise anyone needing work done to a vehicle that may need a tool they carry to take the drive to the next dealership.
