Took my 1993 nissian maxima to this shop that I had asked friends around this neighborhood how were they. Everyone I had asked and that knew about them said this man that owned this shop rich was a christian man and heard nothing but good.
I complained of my car not getting gas and it cutting out and dying at idle or on highway doing 65 mph. Tthis has been my complaint from day one.
Mechanic by the name of carl called me to let me know what was wrong w/my car. Hhe expressed that it was my spark plug wires and by rotor and distributor.
I asked him how he came to that conclusion and he told me that he put it on the diagnostic machine and that's what came back. I asked him how much it would cost and he told me 380. Rroughly I said ok do the work.
I went to pick up my car and paid my monies. Drove not even 4 blocks from the shop and my car died. Sstarted the car back up and drove to my house which was another 2 blocks and the car acted like it wasn't getting something; it wouldn't go.
I called the shop explained to them that my car was still doing the same thing it was doing before I spent $300 dollars. Jesse is whom I spoke with, told me to come back and they would test drive it.
The mechanic that worked on my car, carl drove it first. When he pulled off I could tell that my car was not going. He came back said there was nothing wrong with it.
So the owner took it for a test drive. He came back and said the same thing nothing was wrong with it maybe bad gas since it had been sitting for a while.
So I said ok I will run the gas that's in it out and put new gas in with some cleaner in it and the owner rich told me to do that and to give call back if it didn't run right.
But he was pretty confident that that was the problem. I put new gas in my car and needless to say that didn't do it. Mmy car was still dying when at idle and not wanting to go when it was started.
I called rich's place back spoke with jesse again and told him that my car was still having the same problem. He asked me to bring it back so they could keep it for a couple of days.
I expressed to jesse that I could not bring it back right then because I was moving and wasn't going to be able to do it. He said get here when you can.
I drove my car and as I was pulling into my house the car died and wouldn't start back up. I called the shop spoke with jesse again told him that my car wouldn't start at all.
He then said ok I will send a tow truck down to your house to get your car. The next day rich the owner called me and said they know what's wrong with my car.
He said that it was a massive air flow sensor and was going to cost me another $500 dollars to fix. Tthat included the tow bill and a dianostic test.
I told him that this wasn't fair. He asked me why I felt this way and I explained to him that my car after spending $300 was still doing the same thing it has been doing.
I told him that the 1st mechanic carl told me that he put my car on a diagnostic test and it was my spark plug wires and rotor and distributor. Rich then stopped me and said no he didn't run the test on your car he could visually see the my wires were bad and that was what he assummed that was wrong with my car.
I expressed to rich that his mechanic lied and that I shouldn't be resposible for another $500 dollar to fix my car. Wwe went back and forth he claims that my car had to different problems.
After hearing enough and upset that a so called christian is not admitting to his mechanics mistake I told him I would be contacting my lawyer.
He also said to me maybe I should pay the tow bill and diagnostic test and take my car somewhere else. I am a single female and I feel that I am being taking advantage of.
