To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Thomas I currently live in the Atlanta area and am the proud owner of a brand new 2005 Honda Civic. I purchased my Civic at Lanier Honda. I had a wonderful experience and look forward to many miles and years of driving enjoyment from my investment.

I wish I could say I was drafting this letter to The consumer complaints purely to describe my satisfaction with the service I received at Lanier Honda, however, a black cloud has come over my car buying experience.

When searching for my car, like any consumer, I wanted the Bottom line, the best deal possible. I looked through all the newspapers but I realized these ads in one way or another can often be misleading. A co-worker and fellow Civic owner encouraged me to e-mail all the local Honda dealerships to locate the exact car I wanted and the price quote I was looking for.

I followed my colleague's advice and received a number of quotes. I had a little trouble finding the color I was looking for. I finally found the color and drove out to Hank Aaron Honda, in Griffin, Georgia (2425 North Expressway, Griffin, Georgia 30223&Phone - 770-228-2888&Fax-770-228-1883) At Hank Aaron Honda I met a salesperson named Clay Fulghum. Clay showed me the car, just the outside. It was sort of a there it is; now lets fill out the paperwork and get Clay his commission situation. I should note that I went to this dealership after I got off work and when I arrived they were closed. Clay Fulghum, the salesperson, Freddie Watson-Finance, and Mike Cosper-Sales Manager, stayed after work, to rush this deal through. It was the last day of March and I guess there was some sort of quota they were trying to reach. Everything was rushed. I never drove the car. I never looked at the interior or trunk of the car. While filling out paperwork to rush the deal through, Clay Fulghum actually encouraged me to fabricate Names, Addresses, and Phone numbers on a list of references. I should note that everything was so rushed I am not quite sure what that list of references was for. Nothing was explained, everything was taken for granted.

The deal truly ended when we entered the showroom and I told Clay that I had seen much better prices on the same car elsewhere, and he responded that he Should ask more than that for it, since he knew it was difficult for me to find this color That was about as unprofessional as one can be but I let it slide or was so rushed I did not have time to process and react.

I was uncomfortable and it showed. At one point Clay observed my discomfort. The sales manager Mike Cosper, said let me know if you are uncomfortable anytime and the deal is off. They were rushing and telling me that it was March 31st and that if I did not act today the special 2.9% finance offer may not be offered next month. I look on this now as outright fraud, deceit, and inducement. The 2.9% deal has been offered for at least 9 months, so for these Professionals to imply that this may be the last month when you can go get 2.9% today, you could get it two months ago and you will be able to get it two months from now. I was rushed to Freddie Watson in finance, who rushed me through paperwork. I stopped him and said, I am not comfortable with this, this is not a done deal is it? He asked, You haven't driven the car have you? I replied, No. He said, If you haven't driven the car you have not taken delivery, and therefore there is no deal. I told Freddie I needed to think it over and talk to my mother, he said OK. I left the dealership that night and thought about the dishonesty, deceit, and unprofessional practices I encountered and decided that even if I had to order that car from another dealership and wait for it I would.

Thinking I was glad to be done with Hank Aaron Honda, Clay Fulghum, Mike Cosper, and Freddie Watson, and having never driven the car, not possessing the car, and having no keys, no contract, and nothing else from Hank Aaron Honda except my last communication with Freddie telling me the deal was off, I preceded to find a more honest dealer.

I found that dealer at Lanier Honda. Two days after purchasing my new Honda Civic from Lanier, and 7 days after leaving Hank Aaron Honda, I received voice mail from Mike Cosper asking me to come pick up my car. I was floored. Freddie Watson told me I did not take delivery so the deal was not done and now that I purchased the car from another dealer I get the shock of Mike Cosper telling me they processed my paper work and my payment book would soon be arriving at my home.

I never drove the car at Hank Aaron and I have no paperwork whatsoever. I did not buy that car nor did I give authorization to process my paperwork after I told Freddie Watson not to process the paperwork that evening.

I hope that someone sees the strength of my case at The consumer complaints and can communicate to the management of Hank Aaron Honda (See Address, Phone, And Fax above) the importance of honesty, integrity and customer service. I have tried to be reasonable with Mr. Cosper but he refuses to listen to reason and is steadfast in his conviction that I bought that car. I will get an attorney involved if this situation is not resolved in a reasonable amount of time, like three weeks, as I do not want to have my outstanding credit rating put in jeopardy because Hank Aaron Honda and its unprofessional staff want to make their quotas.

As I said, I will involve legal counsel if the original contract, which I never received, is not delivered to the address at the top of this letter diligently and without delay, stamped Null and Void. If an attorney does read this complaint and sees unlawful actions in the way Hank Aaron Honda performed please contact me.
