Ripoff! My experience has been so negative, I don't think I will ever purchase another Honda

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter to complain about Hardin Honda located at # Auto Center Drive, Anaheim, Ca. 92808. When I leased my new Honda Accord, I had been recently divorced. I specifically chose Honda. I was driving a fully loaded Civic, only 10 months old, that cost approx. $17,000 plus tax and license. I decided to lease a fully loaded Honda Accord. This was the first car I purchased on my own. I dealt with a sales person and the sales manager. They assured me I was getting a fair deal. They also indicated I was getting a fair deal on my fairly new Civic trade in. During the dealing process, we focused on a monthly payment that I could afford. The purchase price for the Honda Accord wasn't really discussed.
As you can see by the copy of my lease documents, Hardin Honda never put in the total purchase price of the car. Also I was never really told what the value of my trade in was, on my relatively new Civic. Verbally $15,000 minus the pay off was mentioned at the time of making the deal on my new Accord. Later Ms. Hardin (owner's daughter) said over the phone, "No, we gave you $12,000 to reduce the monthly payment." No where in the lease or paperwork does it show this. Only the payoff is shown. The value of my trade in was made verbal and vague; nothing in writing other than that Hardin Honda paid off the Civic and that was all. No where in the paperwork does it show that the remaining value of the Honda Civic was applied to reducing the purchase price of the Honda Accord.
As you can also see by the enclosed lease documents, I had sixty-six payments at $369.97. I paid an additional cash payment of $762.34. (note there are 2 lease documents) The amended second document, shows Hardin charged me more money, since the pay off on the Civic was a little more than they first thought.
They assured me I had a great deal and I left feeling very happy with my new car, however, when I explained to friends and family the deal I got, they questioned where the remaining value on the Honda Civic was applied. The concerns raised motivated me to go back to Hardin Honda and have it explained to me, how they structured the deal and where the value of the Civic was applied. I have no evidence of the remaining amount of the Civic value being applied, only their word.
I have spoken to Hardin Honda on numerous occasions during the course of my entire lease (in person, over the phone, and in writing) and they were very vague each time. I even spoke with Roberta Hardin, the owner's daughter, and she was also vague saying when you purchase your next Honda, the lease will be easier to understand and more clear. I also enclosed a letter that I sent to Hardin Honda, after not receiving any real answers many times over, in person or by phone. I have gone overboard to get answers but to no avail.
I am out of the lease now. I paid additional $250 pick up fee and was given no credit for being under my mileage allowance. I decided to lease a Toyota instead of a Honda. My experience has been so negative, I don't think I will ever purchase another Honda.
Over the phone, Roberta Hardin told me I paid approximately $24,000 for the car. It appears to me that the residual value plus lease payments adequately cover enough to PURCHASE the car. Here is the bottom line. What happened to the remaining value of my Civic? (whether they gave me $15,000 or $12,000)
I don't know what if anything can be done, but I question Hardin Honda's ethics and I feel that you should investigate. I look forward to your response. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Sincerely,
Linda
