On January 6 this towing company came to my job and stole my vehicle from my work parking lot. Once I was notified that this was my vehicle. I contacted the police and was informed that the company who towed my car was Irving Wrecker Service. They said that my car was listed as an repossession and that I needed to contact the towing company. At that point and time I had no memory of who they were, and all I knew is that my car was stolen. The police told me that the only company that could have given authorization for my car to be towed without being parked in a illegal parking zone and reposessed is the lien holder of my vehicle.
So I called my lien holder and was informed that they had given no one authorization to tow or reposess my vehicle.
So after receiving that information, I contacted the towing company and was told that the reason they towed my car was because of a bad check I had written in January for their services to unlock my vehicle. I did recall calling their company and having them unlock my car at work, and I did pay with a check, but to my knowledge everything was fine and I never heard back from the towing company in regards to not receiving the money. Nor did I receive any notifications from my bank that the check did not clear. After speaking to owner, I informed him that I contacted the police and my lien holder and no one gave him authorization to come and steal my vehicle. He claimed that he was not in the wrong and for me to pay him $345 for his towing services and the check and I can have my car. I then had to take off of work to go to the location to get my car.
Once I was there, the owner gave me and my husband issues to the point where I had to call for the police to come out. The police came out and to make a long story short, after disputing and questioning the owner, he admitted that he does this all of the time and he gave himself authorization to get my car due to non-payment without filing any paperwork and he had no authorization from my lien holder. I did not have to pay him the $345. I ended up paying him $90 for the service and the uncleared check and left with my vehicle. So to concud this jerk stole my car and I am not willing to let him get away with it. I am in the process of looking for a lawyer for a civil case
