Had our vehicle towed for no reason and refused to do anything about it

My vehicle was towed from the parking lot in a GATED community. I went the the management office to find out why they had it towed. The manager said they have a contract with a towing company and the towing company comes and goes as they please and are allowed to tow any vehicle at their discretion, and that they were not going to assume any responsibility.

I asked how they were not responsible if they gave the towing company a remote to get into the community and gave them permission to "tow at will." The manager told me I had to take it up with the towing company and walked back into his office.

I went to the impound lot and spoke with the manager there. He told me it was up to Trillium because they were the ones who contracted them. I brought up the fact that the vehicle was not in a "tow away zone" or in a "no parking zone." He said that it wasn't in a assigned parking spot. I told him it was because I was getting ready to carry boxes down to it. He said well that's not his problem.

Then the refused to release the vehicle unless we paid CASH! No credit/debit cards, checks, or anything that has a paper trail.

Bottom line: Avoid these apartments at all costs. They do not care about the tenants or their property. I am filing a report on the towing company also.
