There are new procedures put in place by a newly enacted California state law that towing companies must abide by with their towing practices. Titan Towing broke all three of them.
1.) As part of the new law, a property manager must sign as written premission before the vehicle is towed from the property. This did not happen.
2.) Secondly, the towing company must also call local law enforcement to notify them of the vehicle being removed. Titan Towing did call the police, but stated the reason for removal of the vehicle as "repossession, " which was a blatant lie.
3.) The new law also has a section that was created to prevent towing companies from charging an exorbitant or excessive fees. The California Highway Patrol sites the average fee as being $180 for a vehicle being towed. I had to $345 to get my vehicle back that night. Grossly excessive...
