Three Mercury Grand Marquis autos that I've bought new: all have had peeling paint within three to four years after purchase. I've had Ford employees tell me Ford is aware of the problem, that it's primer related, but they won't do anything about it. Complaints to their customer service people only result in condescending responses that say nothing. One car with a paint problem could be chalked up to the luck of the draw. Three different year models indicates major quality control problems. Grand Marquis otherwise a good car (now gone forever since Ford killed the brand). But their paint sucks, and their so-called customer service sucks royally.
