After I saw and add on Craigslist in the jobs section, I decided to email restaurant "Joya" in Palo Alto. Within 24 hours, a manager called me to set up an interview. His name was Chris Bowles and he urged me to call his at his cell phone at (610) 762-5100.
I called him back and he scheduled me for an interview that same day. During the interview he made sure to tell me how how great it was to work there and assured me the staff made a lot of money. We had a ten minute interview where he offered me a job. He said they would call me later that day to give me my training schedule. The same day I received a job offer from another restaurant where I had been interviewed before and I gladly refused it because I had been hired at restaurant "Joya" in Palo Alto. Two days went by and I never heard from Chris Bowles or anyone else from restaurant "Joya".
I called the restaurant twice and I left Chris a message. He never responded. Two days after I called him on his cell phone and he promised he was getting the work schedule for the week and he would call me that night to let me know the days I would start my training. Two more weeks went by and I never heard from them. There was never a job offer. The way this gentelman conducts business is unscrupulous. He promised me a job on more than one occasion then ignored me and evaded my calls. ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL!
I am writing this with the hope that Chris Bowles will realize that he cannot play with the needs of job seekers or that someone at "Joya" will realize that Mr. Bowles may not be ready for the responsibilities of his position.
