Complaint / Review
Raising Canes Chicken
Coupon Fraud / Bait and Nothing

I experienced a very poor customer service experience and attempted to gain some measure of explanation / satisfaction through the usual channels, but to no avail. See text of e-mails below:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have allowed one week (due to the busy holiday) for a proper response to my very restrained and cordial query. Having received no reply, I will have to assume that customer service is a non-issue for your company, or responding to people in a timely businesslike manner is unimportant.

If in two (2) days time I have still received no response, I will be forced to conclude that I am being ignored. The copies and information in this e-mail will be posted to consumer advocacy boards and other web-based resources such as usacomplaints.com and others; as well as aggressively circulated through word of mouth, in effect you will have lost a frequent customer and gained the unpleasant things that go along with that.

Thank you,

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing in order to bring a customer service issue to your attention I had at my local Cane's location in Norman, OK on July 1 at 5:47 P.M. Chk# 1476. My wife and I visit your stores on a regular basis and on this occasion we wished to redeem a buy on get one free combo meal coupon we received at a college softball game. The coupon had no expiration date or details of any kind, other than the offer for buy one combo meal at regular price and get the second free. We presented the coupon to "260 Jon*" and were informed that this offer was good on the day of the game only. There were do details to that effect on the coupon itself, and the game we attended at which we received the coupon did not end until @11:00 P.M.

My question is this; If your company is going to give away coupons at sporting events that don't end until late at night and then expect your customers to redeem them same day, then why is that information not clearly printed on the coupons? We got in our car (gas $4 a gallon) and drove to your store to eat dinner, in good faith we presented this coupon, and were told it was no good because it was not the same day it was handed out. There was no "I'm sorry" no "Yeah, that is unclear, but this is our policy" there was just a "no, this is no good".

We got our 2 dinners and ate them because we were already there, but the whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth, that had nothing to do with the food.

I would appreciate a reply to clarify your policy on coupons so that this unpleasant experience does not repeat and to decide weather or not we should consider further patronage.

Thank you,

*
