My husband and I tried the new Popeyes restaurant two times. After the first visit I only had a bad stomach ache, but last night I had diarrhea about five times, and today I have suffered terrible pains and sweating the whole day. I do not know which ingredient in the spicy breading is responsible, yet something in it disagrees with us. My husband tolerates spicy food far better than I do, and he suffered the same thing. I am relieved we did not give the chicken to our son. He does not like spicy food, so he ate only biscuits and mashed potatoes.
It is a shame this keeps happening, because I really do enjoy how the chicken tastes, but I cannot risk eating it again. We are not the only ones, either. When I asked another person whether he had been to Popeyes yet, he said he had, and that it upset his stomach (he phrased it differently). I truly hope nobody else gets sick.
