My thirty seven years living in my home I have never experienced a more uncompromising mortgage servicer than Green Tree Servicing. I have been trying for almost two years get Green Tree to modify my loan; lower my payment due to decrease in my income. Green Tree waited six months before they sent me an application to apply for Making Home Affordable programs. Once I sent all my documents weeks went by before any one of their agents contacted me, of course as unconcerned as usual just to tell me I did not send all documents necessary and now they had expired.
I have ner spoke to any one more ungracious as GreenTree agents or representatives. I have been with Green Tree since 1999 it has been the same from the begining. My interest rate is 16.95, which I thought I would qualify for at least a lower, my home right now is not valued at what I paid for it thirty seven years ago. This happen another five times over three months before I finally spoke to someone that told me they did indeed recieve all of my documents. Oly to be told I did not qualify for any program offered. Each month that went by thier only concern was when would I be sending in my payment.
I filed complaints with my local and their states Attorney General and BBB, which Green Tree responded with every lie or excuse they could think of. I was then sent a letter suggesting I seek private attorney services. I do not know any one that wants or choose to be homeless. I am extremely tired of hearing home owners are not taking advantage of programs offered to help them stay in their homesIf it is left up to Green Tree or other banks, then I ask who will qualify? The Federal Government and Congress need to put pressure on unscrupuious companies like Green Tree Sevicing for answers as to why they (Green Tree) are not participating in all programs that may assist homeowners!!?
