I received a call from a representative of Everest Consumer Services telling me that in order to rebuild my credit he could get me a Visa Credit Card from the Visa Company and all I had to do was make a one time payment of $299.00 that would be automatically deducted from my checking account on the 30 of September.
This representative kept saying, "why wouldn't you want to get a Visa Credit Card from the Visa Company?" He also said, this card is coming directly from Visa Corporation.
When I contacted Everest Consumer Services to find out when I would be receiving my Visa Card since the funds had been removed from my checking account - the lady said: "you're not getting a Visa Card - you're only getting some paperwork on how to get one from your bank." I told her that is not what was told to me and that I wanted my money back because I was misled by their representative. She told me that I would have to call next week to see if my name would appear on the "Refund List".
I didn't feel comfortable with that reply so I immediately contacted the Better Business Bureau for Champlain, NY and reported them.
Now I'm $299.00 broke. This is so very wrong and these people need to be taken to task for what they are doing.
