I received a phone call on Aug. 13,04 from an Anthony Johnson telling me that my husband applied for a credit card and was approved for 2500.00 and they needed a little more information. Against my better judgment I gave him the information he asked for. I gave him checking account number and after a few minutes he told me to have the money in my account before Aug. 27 and that they were going to take out a one time fee of 329.80. At the end of the call I called my husband and he told me he never applied for a card. Then I went to the bank and moved the money out of the account to try and stop them from taking it.
I tried several times to call them back to cancel, and continually got a recording that said the mail box was full. I was able to leave a couple messages but they never returned my calls. I finally got through and talked with Nicole and she told me that there was nothing they could do to stop the transaction. They had already taken the money and told me I had to wait three weeks before I would recieve any thing from them.
A week later I was able to get through and i talked with Cindy. I asked her what the status was on the card I was supposed to be getting, and she told me it would be another three weeks before I would get it. I asked her why they had never returned my calls even after I left a few messages stating that I did not want the card. I left three numbers that they could have reached me at along with my conformation nmumber and never heard from them. She told me that they did not have information on new clients until 72 hours after the apllication for a card was recieved.
I asked to speak with a supervisor, but she said that their supervisors do not take customer complaints. I asked her about canceling the service now but she said it had to be done within 24 hours. That is imposible because you can't contact this company within a week because they have only one phone line that is always busy. So You CAN NOT CANCEL because they don't have your information until 72 hours later and because you can't get through on their only phone within 24 hours.
Do not accept anything from continental services and defintely do not give them any information!!!
