Undisclosed hold limit leads to expiration

I started to a one-year Value Line subscription on December 30.

In September I called the Value Line Customer Service to cancel my subscription and get some money back. The Customer Service person told me that it was not possible to cancel but it was possible to hold the subscription until I would resume it. I agreed to do that.

2 days ago, on May 1st, I called the Value Line Customer Service to resume the subscription but they told me that the Hold was valid only for 10 weeks and that the subscription had now expired.

The Customer Service person that I talked to in September NEVER said that the Hold would expire after 10 weeks.

This is infuriating and even though I talked with a Customer Service Supervisor, I could not succeed in getting my money back. So I'm filing this complaint.
