Home Loan Center does not provide good faith estimates and states that they will meet or beat rates in the market when they do not - VERY, VERY dishonest business practices. The loan officer lied to me. Once they have your money from the rate lock agreement, they feel they can do whatever they so desire with you. They do not want to please their customers.
Again, they send you a rate lock agreement and NOT a good faith estimate, and the rate lock is 600 dollars. My advice is to stay away from lenders who do not provide a good faith estimate. Find a better deal for rate locks. It is an exorbitant cost to incur. I can't be believe I got hoodwinked and swindled by this loan officer. He was good at one thing - baiting me and luring me into a bad deal.
The loan officer I talked to stated that Home Loan Center would meet or beat the rates in the market. All he had to do was talk to his manager, he said. Home Loan Center did not do that for me. I know I should have done my homework, but what they did was totally unfair.
The loan they sent me in the mail was not the loan I agreed to at all. The loan officer said I agreed to it over the phone. Right! I did not agree to the loan I received in the mail. It was a 15 year loan with 5000 dollars cash back and I wanted 13000 dollars cash back. That's what I told him I wanted. The loan officer stated that the terms of the loan would be adjusted once I signed the paperwork I received in the mail. RIGHT! Why send me a truth and lending statement and the paperwork if the signtaure on the documents indicates that I agree with the terms with the idea that those terms will change.
Again, do not go to Home Loan Center.
