We never received any correspondence from Best Buy or Household Bank, including billing statements from a credit card that we owed $144.97. We never used the Best Buy credit card over 14 Months. We moved within the year of getting the card and sent notice to the Post Office and companies of our change.
We checked our credit for a refinance loan and it was turned down due to the bad credit from this acocunt. We notified Household Bank and agreed we owed the money and would send in the payment for the $144.97, but they refused and said we owed $540.55
The Bank is unwilling to work with us or will not remove the bad credit even when we are willing to pay the full amount including the interest due to the misunderstanding. They said they have taken it to a collection agency, but it seems they did not try and check with the post office or even check the new address from the credit bureau???
We have worked in a small business and know how to get hold of customers when they move. We are unsure why they were unable to obtain the correct address. We have purchased items from Best By since the the move and also have provided our phone number and info to Best Buy.
