We did an over-the-phone application to refinance for a second time with AmeriQuest. Scott Spiegleman told us not to speak to anyone but him. He told us the interest rate would go down, and that our payments would go down $100.00. When we signed the loan papers, the interest rate had gone up and our payments were only $1.00 less than they were before. Also, we now have a balloon payment in 2 years which was not mentioned in the phone conversation and was not addressed at closing.
The HUD I settlement figures do not match the Summary of Debts and Disbursements to borrower. There is $117.50 missing and unaccounted for. We were told "not to worry about it" by the office manager, Josh Bartucca.
Checks were cut to the wrong persons. Some were cut to accounts that had previously been paid. Some were cut to accounts we had already disputed in the credit bureau. One was cut to NO NAME! None of these accounts were to have been paid from this financing deal.
Scott told us we would receive $1079.00, and that is the figure on the HUD I Settlement statement that we signed.instead, two weeks AFTER we signed the loan package we got a check for $210.00, which we dare not cash due to the multiple errors in this mortgage package. How convenient for them that the 3 day right to cancel has expired!
In addition, in order to finance the mortgage, Scott used a PARTIAL credit report that included the worst credit information he could find. Truthfully, he used the page where Ford Motor credit had recorded the SAME DEBT 5 TIMES! To make matters worse, this account HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID!!! In fact, Ameriquest was the company that paid this account when we did the 1st mortgage with them.
Now Scott won't speak to us... He's "in a meeting." Also, his secretary, Jennifer Gallegos, "no longer works there." The office manager, Josh Bartucca, "doesn't know what happened" and refused to give us the phone number for the corporate office.
