I noticed my husband's credit card bill was late. He called Direct Merchant's Bank, found out the bill was missing and requested a copy of bill. He also cancelled his card and ordered a new one to prevent possible identity theft.
We never received a copy, only threatinging letters to pay. We called again and explained AGAIN. Still nothing but nasty letters and phone calls (8 or 9 a day.
No copy ever arrived, but the next bill did with a double minimum payment and a late fee. We called again to remove late fee and close account. They refused. We mailed double payment that day (Sat. June 5). We have been tormented by 8 to 10 phone calls a day beginning on Monday, June 7. We also received a letter saying we are having our credit limit severely lowered.
We were the victims here and did what any responsible citize would do... Reported a missing card/bill. We are being harrassed by the company rather than protected by them.
