I would like JPMorgan Chase to reward me the double points promised for the purchases in question.

I am fully capable of providing the documentation to prove these purchases qualify under the double reward points program, however I was told incorrect information TWICE by two different customer service representatives about what information was necessary in order to have my purchases qualify under this program when I called in specifically seeking this information.

I called in on two separate occasions and spoke with two different customer service representatives asking them what exactly was necessary to prove a purchase qualified under the "home improvement" category. I was told both times that all I needed was to provide proof that the purchase was indeed for home improvements. More specifically, that even if I made the purchase on PayPal (which is a much less credible merchant transaction source than the one actually used... I.E. No need for business license etc.) all I would need would be proof that the purchase was indeed for a contractor (i.E. Provide proof of business license) and a copy of the services rendered.

When I saw that my reward points for these purchases were not being counted as double points I called in to customer service to straighten out the situation. I was THEN told that in order for purchases to qualify under the "home improvement" category the merchant had to be registered under "general contractor" category. My merchant set up his credit card account under the "miscellaneous" category and therefore I was told AFTERWARDS that this was absolutely necessary in order to qualify for double reward points. I asked every question I could possibly think of to find out what was necessary and was never told this information. Had I been told this I surely would have either gone with another contractor, made certain that my contractor set up his merchant account correctly, or not ever put the charge on my credit card in the first place.
