I was in a bind and I thought I would just 'look around' online at the Payday loan sites. I entered some information (dummy me!) like address and phone #. The only thing I got was other recommended sites to apply for a loan. Next thing you know, I'm getting phone calls every 5 to 10 minutes all day long. Literally! My husband also started getting the calls. I never completed any application or gave my account # out. I never agreed to any loan or was even approved since I didn't even complete the apps. I called my phone provider and had them block the 12 different numbers that were harassing us. This worked for awhile, but then every now and then another number would call and I would just add it to the blocked list. I NEVER received any money in any way from anyone.
Now, all the sudden some foreign guy is calling me saying that he's from the Legal Department needing to confirm the last 4 digits of my social security number. I asked several times "Legal Dept for what company?" He refused to answer and just kept saying "I will tell you that" I said "stop telling me what you'll tell me and say it now!" He finally said I'm being sued by Cash Now because they gave me THREE different loans and I didn't pay any of them. I said "I'll tell you what, since you seem to have all my information, why don't you send me the so-called lawsuit and I'll present it to my attorney. Meanwhile, don't call me again or I'll file harassment charges." I hung up. 30 seconds later - he calls back (oh, and by the way, the two men I spoke to had accents. - Yea, like a REAL legal department only hires foreigners!) and he says that he wants my attorneys address so he can send him the info. I said no, you can send it to me and i'll contact my attorney that way I can prove without a doubt that you are a liar and a scam. I have ONE bank account and I have absolutely NO RECORD of any irregular deposits. I had to hang up on him again. I immediately added that number to my block list. 5 minutes later my husband calls me from work telling me he's having these random numbers call him again (I immediately added them to the block list too.)
NEVER EVER go online to do a payday loan. I was so skeptical of it in the first place. I never went through with it and I'm sorry I ever even looked into it. We worked everything out without it. These scammers are relentless. Next I'm expecting a call from some foreigner saying he's going to arrest me like another complaint on here related.
All I can say, is "Let them try!" Because I have total proof that I, in no way, ever received any funds at all! Beware!!! Trust me! Don't even LOOK at their website!
