Deposit not returned - VAN HIRE

I hired a van from A1 on Friday 13th May - Saturady 14th May as it offered a drop off and pick up service. From the first dealings with customer services i i had made a mistake using them. First of all the van i had hired for drop off at 7pm they wanted to deliver at 10am in the morning, i expained that i would not be at this address until 6.30 so it would not work for me. They sub contracted the hire to Thrifty, luckily after speaking to someone at thrifty they agreed to meet me at the address for 7pm. I asked how the pick up would work, they said i would have to drop the van off at the local depot or return the keys! So no drop off and pick up service was given!

On to the charges - i have a confirmation email from A1 stating they will charge me £70 for the hire, having checked my bank statement they had taken a total of £320 from my account. When i spoke to them on the monday morning i was given short shrift by the customer services who said you never read our terms and conditions!

On asking when my money would be returned i was told it would be within 3 working days, now a week later i am still been told it will take a further 3 working days for my deposit to be returned.

All i want is confirmation of when my excessive deposit will be returned. I have logged a complaint with trading standards - awaiting a response.

All in all i wished i never used them.
