We got our loan with Green tree in oct of 1999 and like others I have read about we were lied to again and again. The first lie was about the value of our home wich was less that they told us, secound was the interest rate that was suppossed to be 7% but ended up being 11%, they also told us that if we made split payments it would be paid off sooner only to be told later by the company that they did not honor this.
They would not refinace our loan at a lower rate until I got the FTC involved then they sent me a contract with a confidentiality agreement and they would lower my rate only If I signed this. I did not sign this and I fought with this company for two years.
We finally signed the home over in a deed in lieu of foreclosure contract only to have green tree now report that we owe them 25,000$.in the deed contract it states we are not liable for any money owed on the home. I can not wait to be rid of this Five year nightmare with this company.
I have tried the FTC the BBB, and the state attorney generals office, the only recourse is that I was able to get the appraisers liscense taken away for 2 years yet green tree remains untouched. I have spoken with 5 different lawyers about them and they all react as if conseco/green tree has too much money to fight. HELP!!! These people have to be stoped.!
