I am a small contractor. I was hired a couple years back to install some security cages on a new office building that had been hit by thieves. I thought it was odd to have an office in this very well known crime area, especially a mortgage company. But when you get to know the owner, it becomes real apparent what the motivation is. Kieth Luedeman bought a building cheap, on a really bad side of town. When his air conditioners were cut up by thieves, he went to the internet and found me. I quoted him on a $10,000 job - and as a small contractor, I was very excited to work with him. Little did I know that this was the worst mistake I had ever made as a business owner. Almost immediately, he wanted more than we had initially agreed to. A single trip out to install steel cages turned into an 8-day ordeal. I was accused of damaging roofs, threatening him and not providing the service that was promised.
