My mother took out a loan with EnerBankUSA for a step-in tub. She has made about 20 payments on the tub with no problem until a couple days ago when she received a letter telling her she owed late charges in the amont of $30.00 and past due principal and interest of $13.00 (a total of $43.00) for a past due payment date of January 30.
She checked her records and found that the check for that payment cleared her credit union on January 12, well before the past due date. When she called the phone number given in the letter to report any problems, the person she talked to didn't have a clue and said she ddn't know how to help her??? What do they do, just drag people in off the street and have them answer the phones?
Anyway, the person she spoke with actually didn't know what to do because today, she received a duplicate letter requesting a payment (which has already been made and cleared by my mother's financial institution) and late penalties.
