First Consumers National Bank ripoff!

I, too, have been having problems with FCNB. When they went out of business, they sent the notice and I immediately contacted them about my bill. They told me that the current amount owed would be all they would collect. At that time, it was around $400, now, quite some time later, it is at $700 because they have continually added late fees and over the limit fees. I have made payments only to have $2 applied to the balance because they keep adding new fees on.

I realize I owe them the $300 I charged on the card, but I refuse to pay all these other things they have added when I was told there would be no more fees once the company closed. At one point, my payment had been made but not posted yet, and they charged my annual fee to the card. It sent it 68 CENTS over the limit and they charged me $35, even though they had received the payment, but since THEY hadn't posted it yet, I got the added fee.

They told me to dispute it and that while a matter was being disputed, no fees would be charged until a resolution was reached. They still added fees on. They have not sent regular statements and no one can call them to take care of anything. I tried to call to pay it completely off when I got my taxes back and was unable to do so because I could not reach them.

They have definitely practiced bad business and have been fraudulent in their statements to me. I don't know what to do - I don't feel we should pay all these fees that have been added on, but I don't know how else to handle it. I have written a letter to the address they provide, and will see what happens, but I doubt anything will change. What can we do to get these people out of our lives?
