I refinanced my home last October. Chase Home Finance bought my loan after settlement. I had paid my Homeowners insurance out of pocket for the year, prior to closing on my loan. Since it wasn't up for renewal until November, Chase saw that it had a renewal date in November and paid for it again. This created a shortage in my escrow account. They sent me a statement with a coupon that clearly stated on the top in bold letters "Escrow Lump Sum Payment". I sent this payment in with the coupon and instead of applying to my escrow account the used it as an extra principle payment. When I called them to resolve this, they acted like they did nothing wrong and said they would have to investigate the matter.
