My friend and I checked into room 908 on Tuesday June 2. On Wednesday night we returned to our room and to our surprise it was infested with mosquitoes. After calling the front desk for help 4 times and no one showed up, we went to the front desk ourselves. We were greeted by rude employees who were not eager to help us. After waiting for 20 minutes they told us our only option was to downgrade to room 1020 with no refund of the room price difference. We had the maintenance man and another employee help us take our luggage to room 1020. They were very unprofessional and were hitting on us the entire time. When we got to room 1020 my friend pulled out her wallet (with 200 dollars cash) and i pulled out my wachovia envelope (with 200 dollars cash) that had my money in it to tip them infront of them. They were the only ones that knew where we kept our money because they entered our room unwelcomed and helped themselves to a bottle of champagne and drank it all and continued to hit on us and give us their contact information. After they left we immediately threw it away and put the DO NOT DISTURB SIGN on our door. We did so because our stuff was scattered all over the place from having to switch rooms and we did not want the cleaning people to come in. Friday June 4th, my roommate said she could not find her wachovia envelope and just brushed it off and said she probably misplaced it and we went to sleep. The morning of our departure she still didnt find her envelope and asked me if i could tip the concierge. I said yes and opened up my wallet and to my surprise it was EMPTY! We immediately knew who stole our money and we went to the front desk. We informed the employees and they told us to have a seat in the security gaurds office. The security gaurd had the AUDACITY to accuse us of lying and hiding our money in the suit case. She insisted in checking every piece of our luggage, purses and even my RETAINER CASE! She even asked us what bills we had, which had no importance to us because we knew she wasnt going to do anything about it! She was very rude and unhelpful. She also kept saying "why didnt you put it in your safe". We told her in room 908 we had everything in our safe, but in room 1020 the safe was in the closet, and the door to the closet was jammed! So what were we suppose to do? She shrugged off our question. Her "investigation" consisted of only checking our personal bags and saying its "an open investigation". Since we had NO money we had to ask our friends that were also in the resort for money to take a TAXI to the airport because they made us miss our shuttle. They did nothing to help us!!
