Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa
Theft! Jamaica

My boyfrind and I stayed at the Grand Palladium for a week. On the SECOND NIGHT, someone had gone into our room and into the safe and stole $200 of my money and $400 of my boyfriends while we were out to dinner. My boyfriend had gone into the room after dinner to change into shorts at around 10:20-10:30p. M when he noticed that our safe had been opened. He immediately notified security. He was given a report of the incident and was asked TWICE are you sure you would like to contact police and he said yes. The police were NEVER contacted that night. He was then told that they could not do a door or safe reading until noon the next day. We had then went to the front desk to ask for a manager and to have the reading done and was told again that we had to wait until noon and that there was nobody that we could talk to. At 9:30a. M we were woken up by the Guest Relations Manager and the head security officer from the resort asking to come and do the reading. We agreed for them to come. They told us that they could not do the door reading for us the night before, but had a report that they had done with them when they came in the morning. They said exactly what we knew they were going to say, nobody entered our room but us which is completly false. They then did the safe reading and the print out had times the safe was open and closed, the date and our code. I noticed the date said november but we were told the date was off and we were told EVERYTHING else was accurate. The head secuirty officer and guest relations manager said that there was no sign of forced entry and there was nothing they could do for us except change our room. We questioned the door reading because they did not do it in front of us when we had asked. We then contacted the police to come so we could file a complaint. When the police officers came, the head secuirty officer for the resort demanded that their readings were accurate and our safe was locked until we had opened it. The times were there to prove it on the reading. The reading said the safe was locked at 7:45p. M and opened at 10:54P.M. My boyfriend tried OVER AND OVER to explain to the police officer that the safe was open when he came into the room at 10:30p. M with the hotel security officer but the police officer refused to listen to him because the head security officer kept telling him that it was not possible the reading is accurate. The police said they had to discuss our matter with their supervior and was going to contact us if there was any other questions. We talked to the security officer who wrote up the report the night our money was stolen and he confirmed that he was in the room with my boyfriend when the safe was open at 10:30P.M. So basically there was information missing from the safe reading. We told the guest relations manager and she and the resort head security then told us that the times on the safe reading were not accurate. The head secuirty officer lead the police to believe that the readings were accurate and that is what they used against us when in reality it was not accurate at all.in the end the hotel ended up making up excuses after excuses and telling us lies. The front desk person told us that they bash the door off safes because there is no possible way to get any guests code which was proved to be false because it comes out in the reading. This place is completely unsafe! There are NO SECURITY CAMERAS in the villa for your protection! I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone! I have posted my review on travel websites and have received emails from previous guests who have all had the similar experience with their belongings being missing.
