Due to financial changes, I was forced to modify my mortgage. I paid a retainer fee of $1450.00 to DREC and received a contract from them stating they would be handling all contact & negotiating with my lender (JP Morgan & Chase) as I definitely qualified for a modification. This began back in June.
After receiving a folder of what appeared to be well-prepared documents (most of them sent to DREC by me, but organized by them for presentation to my lender), I had to stay on top of the "negotiators" at DREC. After a few months & receiving a foreclosure letter from my lender, I contacted Dan DePasquale, the owner of DREC. I requested they honor their 100% refund policy as nothing was being done by "the team, " which was always changing players.
After speaking with various people at Chase, I was informed the only thing done by DREC was to fax my documents to them - NO negotiating had taken place by ANYONE at DREC. I made Dan DePasquale aware of this & received a response of "welcome to my world of dealing with lenders! We've helped you." After that (this was in Nov. 2009), I haven't been able to reach anyone at DREC either by phone of by email.
I want my money back per DREC's contract - 100% guaranteed as it's "held in escrow until the modification is completed." I can't reach anyone there, they refuse to respond to the BBB.
