Chase Home Affordable Modification Program - Chase Home Affordable Modification Program

I have been working to get my father a home loan modification with Chase since August. We sent in packet after packet of paperwork that included check stubs, IRS tax papers, bank statements, property tax statements and more. After about 3 packets and months of waiting we were put on a modification payment trial which was supposed to last 3 months but went on to last 5. After those 5 months we were sent a letter saying they could not modify our loan and that we needed to pay what was owed or go into foreclosure; this was from the Making Home Affordable Program. Two weeks after that letter arrived we recieved another letter from a different modification program called CHAMP (Chase Home Affordable Modification Program) which contained a letter stating that we were approved for a modification under their program and they also included the Modification Contract Agreement with all the information about our new loan under the modification and a table of all future payments. It stated that our loan was now modified and that the Maturity date for our modified loan was April 1,2037. They included a copy of the agreement for us to keep, a copy for us to sign, an application for automatic draft payments and a FedEx overnight pre-paid envelope. My father signed the contract sent it and on April 14 recieved a copy of that contract now signed by a Chase lender and dated 4/08/10. Now that he tried to call and ask why his second payment was not drafted from his checking a collections operator tells us that as of May 21 the litigations department made a note on our account that our payments are back to what they were without the modification. We are fed up... If Chase has cancelled our modification contract then we are waiting for them to let us know and we are giving up. Too bad my father doesn't have his mortgage with Bank of America... Everyone I know that does has had their loans modified within 4-7 months. My father was forced to retire at 62 due to illness and can't afford his home but Chase won't help.
