Over the course of the past year I have been overdrafted on several occasions after recieving direct deposit checks into my bank account. I have been checking my balance online the entire time. Out if the overdrafts only one time did I not have sufficiant funds in the account and this was stacked against other transactions resulting in numerous overdrafts.
This way of doing business has cost me hundreds of dollars and follow ups with Comerica Bank either online, in person, or by phone has had little or no results. I have taken screen shots with the times of purchases recently to verify availability of funds. Even the ledger supplied by Comerica Bank web banking doesn't show the balance dropping below zero, yet overdraft fees are applied.
Most recently Comerica Bank has refused payment on a rent check when the funds were available prior and post direct deposit of my check. I noticed this just a few hours ago and have become furious with this bank. I am waiting to contact Comerica until business hours on Monday, and wondering if there is any legal course of action.
I don't know the effect this will have with my landlord or rent, but most likely I will be paying extra due to being on promotion and it will cost me not only the bounced check fee, but at least $100 more for rent and may have other implications since I have just moved here.
I will be not be doing business with Comerica Bank as soon as possible, but I would like to see some money back. I am tired of Comerica Bank picking on the individuals that live paycheck to paycheck who are having a hard enough time getting by without the company trusted to protect our money taking it out from under us.
